In the enthralling days from January 25 to January 28, 2024, the City Lights Open dance competition unfolded its magic at the Downtown Marriott in the heart of San Jose, California. Anna Shahbazyan, the visionary organizer, orchestrated an extraordinary event that went beyond the boundaries of conventional dance showcases. Significantly, the City Lights Open had the privilege of hosting the 2024 NDCA Premier Awards Gala, representing a pivotal moment in its history. Moreover, it proudly became the stage for the inaugural presentation of the NDCA National Ranking awards, adding an extra layer of significance to this already distinguished competition.

Kicking off on Thursday evening, the NDCA Premier Ranking Gala Dinner at 6 pm sets the stage for a night filled with competitive events, including Pro-Am, Mixed Amateur & Student/Student events, and Nightclub Dances. The evening showcases various amateur and professional events, from Senior Ballroom to Rising Star Professional Latin. Friday's daytime session at 8 am continues with Pro-Am, Mixed Amateur & Student/Student events, featuring Rhythm and Ballroom closed and open single dances, multi-dance events, and scholarships. The excitement continues into Friday evening with Pro-Am events, Amateur Under 21 Latin, and the presentation of NDCA Premier Awards. Saturday's schedule at 8 am features Pro-Am, Mixed Amateur & Student/Student events, highlighting Smooth and Latin closed and open single dances, multi-dance events, and scholarships. The evening session at 7:30 pm intensifies with Pro-Am events, Amateur Under 21 Ballroom, and Professional Open events. Sunday's daytime session at 9 am culminates the competition with a dazzling array of Teddy Bear, Pre-Teen, Junior & Youth Amateur, Pro-Am, Mixed Amateur & Student/Student, Solo Star events, multi-dance events, and scholarships. Awards for Top Junior Studio and Top Junior Pro-Am Teacher add the final touch to this exhilarating dance extravaganza.
