2024 Recap

The Iron City Dance Classic, the newest NDCA one-day dance competition, took place at the Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB in Birmingham, AL, on June 1, 2024. Organized by Brian Baker in his inaugural year, the event showcased a range of impressive performances. The competition drew a significant number of participants and spectators, marking a successful debut for this vibrant addition to the ballroom dance calendar.

The Iron City Dance Classic was an impeccably organized event. Nathan Rockwell served as the Master of Ceremonies, ensuring the event ran smoothly and with flair. Anna Shahbazyan, the Chairman of Judges, led a distinguished panel including Donald Johnson, Terry Sweeney, Rozana Sweeney, Ian Folker, and Tamsyn Rockwell. Amanda Ashcroft meticulously handled the scoring as the Scrutineer, while Jeremy Norris set the perfect ambiance as the DJ. This well-coordinated team contributed to the success and prestige of the competition.
