2024 Recap
From August 15-17, 2024, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, was the stage for the 14th edition of the Boca Ballroom Dancesport Competition. Organized by renowned dance professionals Mark Nocera and Helle Rusholt-Yi, the event embraced a lively "Tropical Beach Party!" theme, bringing the heat of the ballroom to the cool rhythms of a beachside celebration. Competitors dazzled in vibrant costumes, and the tropical décor gave the night club setting an unforgettable, festive energy, making this year’s Boca Ballroom a standout in the competition’s history.

The Boca Ballroom Dancesport Competition featured a dynamic lineup of events across five sessions. Session 1 kicked off with the "Tropical Beach Party!" night club session, highlighting Pro/Am, Mixed Amateur, and Student/Student performances in Night Club and Country Western single and multi-dances. Session 2 shifted the focus to Ballroom and Rhythm styles, showcasing Pro/Am, Mixed Amateur, and Student/Student dances, as well as Adult and Senior Amateur events ranging from Newcomer to Pre-Champ levels. The competition continued to intensify in Session 3 with Open Amateur and Professional events, including the Adult Pro-Am Cabaret Championship and various Rising Star categories. Session 4 celebrated Latin and Smooth styles, with Pro/Am, Mixed Amateur, and Youth categories across all styles and skill levels. The competition concluded with Session 5, featuring Open Amateur and Professional events, culminating in the highly anticipated Open Professional American Smooth, International Latin, and Cabaret/Show Dance performances, along with the presentation of overall awards.
