In the charming city of St. Augustine, Florida, dancers from all corners of the nation converged for the 34th annual First Coast Classic Dancesport Championships, held from March 6th to 9th, 2024. Behind the scenes, the dedicated organizer, Sarwat Kaluby, worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was perfect for the event. With each graceful step and heartfelt performance, dancers brought the competition to life, infusing it with their passion and energy.
Throughout the week of March 6th to 9th, the ballroom dance competition was a whirlwind of excitement and elegance. It all began on Wednesday evening with Session 1, where dancers kicked off the event with Night Club Dances. The following day, Thursday Matinee, saw Session 2 featuring a diverse array of events including American Smooth Single Dance, International Latin Single Dance, and World Dancesport Series Championships. Thursday evening continued the festivities with Session 3, highlighted by captivating Solo Exhibitions and a range of Pro/Am Scholarships and Championships. Friday's matinee, Session 4, brought forth International Ballroom and American Rhythm events, while Session 5 in the evening showcased Fordney Youth Challenges and Rising Star Professional competitions. Saturday's sessions were equally thrilling, with Session 6 featuring American Rhythm Challenges and Scholarships, and Session 7 culminating in prestigious Grand Championships, Open Professional events, and the induction ceremony for the World Masters Hall of Fame.
