2024 Recap
The International Grand Ball Dancesport Championships, held in Burlingame, CA, from July 18 to 21, 2024, was a spectacular event organized by Rita and Maurice Algarra. The competition embraced the theme "Sparkle & Glitter!" with the tagline "From Crazy Jewels To Classy Sparkly Dresses & Everything In Between!" Participants showcased their skills in dazzling performances, while the venue shone with vibrant costumes and intricate decorations, creating a memorable celebration for both participants and spectators.

The International Grand Ball Dancesport Championships featured a diverse array of sessions, each highlighting different aspects of ballroom dancing. Session 1 included Pro-Am, Adult Am-Am, and Adult Mixed-Am Rhythm Single Dances, Rhythm Multi Dances, and Pro-Am Rhythm Scholarships. Session 2 focused on Nightclub Single and Multi Dances for Pro-Am, Adult Am-Am, and Adult Mixed-Am categories. Session 3 showcased Smooth Single and Multi Dances, Smooth Scholarships, and the Adult Amateur Rising Star Ballroom. Session 4 highlighted Pro/Am Showdance/Cabaret, various senior championships, and Amateur Formation and Showdance, as well as U21 and Adult Amateur Rhythm and Ballroom Scholarships. The Professional Events included the Rising Star Championships in Ballroom, Rhythm, Latin, and Smooth. Session 5 covered Ballroom and Latin Single and Multi Dances, along with Pro-Am Ballroom and Latin Scholarships. Session 6 featured the IGB Team Match, U21 and Adult Amateur Latin and Smooth Scholarships, and Open Professional Championships in Ballroom, Rhythm, Smooth, and Latin, culminating in the Professional Showdance/Cabaret and the IGB Gala & Show. Finally, Session 7 was dedicated to Junior Events, including a variety of Pro-Am, Am-Am, Solo Star, and Mixed-Am categories across Smooth, Ballroom, Rhythm, and Latin dances, as well as the Fordney Foundation Championships and Scholarships for both Ballroom and Latin.
