The Volunteer State Dance Challenge took place in Nashville, Tennessee, from July 25-27, 2024, marking its 27th year of delivering outstanding competition experiences. Under the leadership of David Medeiros, encouraged eager dancers to demonstrate their talents in a setting known for its excellence. Over nearly three decades, the Volunteer State Dance Challenge had become a distinguished event in the ballroom dance community, consistently offering participants a memorable and high-quality competition.

The Volunteer State Dance Challenge 2024 at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel featured a rich lineup of ballroom dance competitions. It kicked off with Session 1, showcasing Country and Night Club Closed & Open Freestyle events, and ended with a lively Ladies Night and Night Club Disco Party. Session 2 focused on American Smooth, with dancers competing in Closed & Open Single dances and Multi Dance events, highlighted by the GLOBAL Pro/Am 9 Dance Scholarship. The excitement continued in Session 3 with American Smooth Pro/Am Solo/Showdance Scholarships and Silver and Open American Smooth Scholarships. Session 4 featured International Latin events, including Closed & Open Single and Multi Dance events with scholarships across all levels. The competition's highlight in Session 5 was the Professional "Mark Brock Mambo Challenge," followed by American Rhythm in Session 6, which also included the Pro/Am "Mark Brock Mambo Challenge" and GLOBAL Pro/Am 9 Dances. The event concluded with Session 7, featuring the Professional Open and Grand Championship, solidifying its status as a must-attend event in the ballroom dance world.
